Finding the perfect blank notebook in Mexico City

An old friend of mine took me on a goose chase to find the perfect planner for new college semester. She was convinced that you needed to be attracted to your planner if you ever wanted to actually use it, you need to be able to look at it and want to open it. I thought it was silly, but I eventually found the planner and I used it religiously, tracking every hour of every day that semester. I used the book cover to cover.
Now, instead of with a friend browsing each store throughout Denver, a conversation ChatGPT found me this notebook that I’m writing in currently. I prompted it, inquiring where in Mexico City I could find a beautifully handmade notebook. I wanted a notebook like the handcrafted strung book I had bought from a side street store in YangshuoC China.
The store here in Mexico, Apuntes, had similar handmade strung notebooks, but the pages were lined. I prefer a blank page. I can draw, write, plan. It’s a blank canvas, inviting thought and freedom.

I did end up buying two books, one for me and one for Daniela, which in hindsight was a great idea. She is now writing more and is also interested in getting herself a nice pen to create a daily writing habit.
Armando convinced me to buy this book, or at least triggered it because I’ll be writing Spanish after my classes with him. I wonder what the proper handwriting technique is. Only two pages and my wrist is feeling it.
